By now, most of you have heard that our new location has been revealed – we have purchased the Hampton Legion building and will be moving our operations there by the end of the year!  While there are still many details to work out as far as timing for the move and a finalized layout for the new gym space, there is much happening behind the scenes now to make sure this happens in a smooth and timely manner. Having lived in Hampton my entire life and as a fourth generation Hamptonian and with Dan having served our community for over 20 years with the RCMP, it is truly an honor for us to be able to own this very historic building and to see it carry on in our community as a place where people can gather.
As part of our renovation, our aim is to preserve as much of the heritage and character of the building as we possibly can.  The building, built in the very late 1800’s by the Agricultural Society originally housed this group before being taken over by the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in later years. Many community groups have made use of the building over the years for a number of purposes.  In the next few months, we will have drawings and plans ready to reveal to our members and we will welcome your input at that time on things you would like to see incorporated as part of our move.
A few things we do know we will be able to offer in our new location include: larger locker rooms and showers, a water fountain, open floor plan for the gym area, access to additional services on-site including massage therapy, reiki and reflexology and a healthy juice/snack bar and much more.
We want to thank all of our members and friends for the incredible amount of support you have shown us since the news of the purchase was revealed.  We have been overwhelmed by the incredible community support we have received.
Please continue to watch for updates in the coming weeks as we move further with the planning stages of this move.  My door is always open for those who have any questions regarding the plans for the new location.  Once again, we do not anticipate any interruption in service to our members as we transition in to this new location and you can expect the same great service from our staff that you have grown used to in our current location!
We look forward to all that is in store for the coming year and are happy to be able to continue to bring programming to the Hampton area to promote healthy living in mind, body and spirit!
Yours in wellness,
Jen & Dan

  1. This is a great location with a sidewalk, proximity to the river and Dutch Point Park that will be convenient to access, as well as provide the opportunity for increased programmes for the membership. More space, a better layout, more services, with the same friendly and qualified staff puts Lifestyles even farther ahead of other gyms.

  2. First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Appreciate it!

    • Hi there – thanks so much for reading my blog! And this is a great question – I too have this trouble sometimes. I find it especially hard if I try to schedule my writing time as it is hard for me to come up with content on the spot. I tend to get my best ideas when I am doing other things so I have learned to keep a note pad handy and jot down things as they come to me and then refer to them to get me started when I have scheduled time to sit down and work on my blog. A little meditation and deep breathing always helps me a bit too if I need to get focused. Hope this helps!
